The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a temporary closure of the floating bridge in both directions, for a period of five weeks, starting next Monday, corresponding to April 17, to carry out the main maintenance works of the bridge.

To ensure traffic flow, the authority has developed an integrated plan to divert traffic to alternative roads, including the use of Al Maktoum Bridge, Infinity Bridge, and Al Garhoud Bridge, and the opening of the exit of Al Mamzar Street for those coming from Al Ittihad Street, in addition to the main roads and axes such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street. Traffic coming from Sharjah via Al Ittihad Street, using the Al Mamzar exit, which will be opened to vehicular traffic (previously it was limited to buses and taxis), for easy access to the Infinity Bridge via Cairo and Gulf Streets.

Traffic coming from Deira to Bur Dubai, via Al Khaleej Street, using the Infinity Bridge.

For traffic coming from Sharjah to Bur Dubai, via Al Ittihad Street, they can use the Business Bay Crossing, Al Garhoud Bridge or Al Maktoum Bridge, or the Infinity Bridge via Cairo Street and Al Khaleej Street.

The Roads and Transport Authority confirmed that it will monitor and manage traffic through the Unified Control Center and the Intelligent Traffic Systems Center, to ensure the required traffic flow is achieved during the period of closure of the floating bridge.
