Types of paid leave in the private sector in the UAE
There are many types of leave in the private sector in the UAE, including annual leave, sabbatical leave for national service, study leave, mourning leave, parental leave, Hajj and Umrah leave, official leaves and holidays, maternity leave, and sick leave.
Cases of benefiting from maternity leave in the UAE
A worker in the private sector is granted paid leave to care for his child, and thus the UAE will be the first Arab country to grant parental leave to a worker in the private sector. Five working days to take care of his child, accruing, continuously or intermittently, from the date of birth of the child until he completes six months.

Cases of deprivation of maternity leave in the UAE
The Federal Authority for Human Resources indicated that granting an employee who has a live birth a paid paternity leave, during the first month of his child’s birth, requires that the birth process take place within the country, explaining that the wife’s conduct of the birth process outside the country forfeits the employee’s right to obtain paternity leave. .
