Dubai: How to get a driving license without lessons

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new service known as the "golden opportunity" for people who hold driving licences from classes that aren't eligible for replacement, noting that they can apply for an Emirati driver's licence without taking any classes or trainings as long as they pass the final exam, also known as the road test.

Apply for a driver's license :

Holders of driver's licences issued from nations not on the list of nations whose licences can be changed in the 43 countries may apply for the licence, the authorities announced via a tweet on its Twitter account on the social networking platform.

Except for drivers who hold a driver's licence from one of the nations on the earlier mentioned list and who have been exempted from lessons and tests provided that they provide a set of documents proving the validity of their driver's licences, obtaining a driver's licence in the UAE requires completing a programme of training and lessons as well as passing a number of theoretical and practical tests. According to information provided by the authority, the service is only open to people with light vehicle driving licences; heavy vehicle licences are not included.
