Dr. Fawzi Al-Safadi, Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, innovator of the Dubai Laparoscopic Mitral Valve Restoration Technology, and the recipient of many local and international awards, revealed a historic event in heart surgery that Dubai will witness, which is to transplant the entire heart arteries, by making a small side incision between the ribs, not Exceeding 6 centimeters, without the need to incise the chest and spread the bone.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Safadi invented the Dubai Mitral Valve Restoration Technology, which won the award for the best technology for the year 2018, at the International Conference on Laparoscopic Cardiac Surgery, in the Canadian city of Vancouver, after competition from the United States of America and Switzerland, which is a historic achievement for the UAE.
The technology has brought about an exceptional transformation in the methods of heart surgery in general, and mitral valve treatment in particular, as the innovation, which changed many scientific concepts, resonated on the international medical scene, and had its reflection on the level of qualitative development witnessed by the health sector in Dubai.
