emirate honors drivers who returned missing items worth millions of dirhams

Between January 2022 and March 2023, the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) honoured 101 drivers for their integrity and professionalism in handling high-value lost-and-found items. This award is a testament to the drivers' diligence in reporting recovered things to the appropriate authorities, which expedited the process of returning them to their rightful owners and brought them joy and relief.

The drivers discovered a black bag with diamonds worth AED1 million, cash totaling AED3.6 million dirhams, a plastic bag with gold worth AED200,000, an expensive handbag and a watch worth $50,000, cash totaling AED183,000, a black bag with AED200,000 and an expensive watch worth $60,000, and a total of AED221,000.

"Reports of lost and found items by drivers are a source of joy for everyone," Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of Public Transport Agency, stated. They are models of reliability, respect, civility, and duty. In addition to shedding light on the nature of the persons engaged, this sort of behaviour enhances the reputation of Dubai's transit networks.

"RTA is committed to routinely recognising honest drivers as a means of motivating and rewarding those who demonstrate exemplary character in their dealings with other people's money. Because of this, they successfully conveyed an excellent representation of themselves and their field of work.

It improves the quality of taxi service in the emirate and demonstrates Dubai's dedication to its visitors and residents, in keeping with the city's image as the happiest in the world, he added.

In reaction to the swift return of their lost things, passengers on Dubai's public transportation flooded the drivers with expressions of thanks, admiration, and praise for their exemplary behaviour. Bahrozyan came to the conclusion that the drivers' moral actions were a net gain for their company.
