Exemptions from paying 35% of the punishment for traffic infractions in the UAE
A decision was made by the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates to regulate the percentage of exemption from the value of traffic penalties for motorists. The decision was announced in the United Arab Emirates.

The deadline for submitting an application for an exemption from the payment of traffic fines
During a meeting that was presided over by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah made a decision to regulate the percentage of exemption from traffic violations in the emirate. This decision is scheduled to go into effect on April 1, 2023.
The goals of the initiative to exempt certain individuals from having to pay fines for moving offences
The purpose of this decision is to create a system that will contribute to the regulation of the utilisation of fine deduction services, the early payment of fines, and the improvement of compliance with traffic rules.
Instances in which drivers might avoid paying 35% of the total charge for moving offences
As part of the judgement, the fines for traffic offences would be reduced by 35% if payment is received within 60 days of the day the infringement was committed. The extent of the exemption encompasses a monetary fee, a car impoundment allowance, and any fines for delays that may apply, if there are any.
Exceptions that prevent drivers from having to pay a 25% surcharge on their fines for moving offences
Additionally, the ruling exempted traffic infractions by an amount equal to 25% in the case that payment was made after a period of sixty days but before a period of one year from the date on which the violation was committed, and the extent of the exemption was limited to the financial fine alone.
Exemptions from paying fines for traffic offences and instances in which the fine was paid in full
If the violator pays after one year has passed since the day on which the traffic violation was committed, then the payment of the financial fine for the violation, the vehicle confiscation allowance, and the delay fine shall be made in full. As a result of the judgement, the exemption will not be applied to particularly severe traffic offences.
