A 60-day extension is available for those whose time in the United Arab Emirates is coming to an end but whose visas have not yet expired.
Anyone overstaying their visit visa will be fined Dh50 ($13.61) per day if the required procedures are not followed.
The law also allows for the arrest of foreign nationals who overstay their visas by failing to renew them. Regular inspection drives are conducted to identify and apprehend offenders.

Visitors will not be given another grace period when the tourist visa expires
Travel agencies, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) are all encouraging tourists to apply for a 30-day extension visa well in advance of the 10-day grace period that will no longer be granted when a tourist visa expires.
You can request this extra time twice, for a total of 60 days.
An ICP contact centre agent advised, "People who wish to stay in the UAE after their visit visa expires should apply for a 30-day extension visa to stay legally in the country."
They are allowed to request an additional 30 days at most.
How much does it cost to extend a residence visa in the UAE?
The ICP website states that Dh610 is the fee for extending a tourist visa.
However, the immigration service centre Amer reports that GDRFA-Dubai visa extensions cost Dh800.
If you apply through a travel agency, you may have to pay a fee of between Dh800 and Dh1,100.

Visas can be obtained in advance through a travel agency or the airline for visitors from countries that do not have a visa-on-arrival arrangement with the United Arab Emirates.
