Dubai Metro is delayed again due to a technical fault

The Dubai Metro has been experiencing technical difficulties at various stations, causing delays for passengers for the second time in 24 hours.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) informed locals at around 8 o'clock on Wednesday night that services had returned to normal.

The RTA issued a second social media post on Thursday morning, advising riders to use the S'hail app to schedule rides Dubai Metro in advance because of ongoing problems.

Causes of the Dubai Metro's Late Arrival

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, between Zabeel Park and Al Jafiliya district, is where the RTA says the trouble began. However, riders complained on social media about interruptions in service at other stops.

With the caption "What's happening @rta_dubai @DubaiMetro - this is #ADCB metro station," a passenger tweeted a snap of the crowded platform to the RTA. Nothing is happening with the lines. Lines for the #Dubai #dubaimetro have extended all the way to the station's front.

A third person chimed in with, "Same thing at Al Nadha station."

The RTA's reply confirmed there were indeed issues with the service.

"Please be aware that we are experiencing higher than normal passenger loads during peak hours, and as a result, we have instituted additional train insertions to alleviate crowding. In order to avoid delays, the RTA recommends downloading the RTA S'hail App and planning your route in advance.
