The UAE government has announced the official working hours for the holy month of Ramadan for ministries and federal government agencies, according to the new weekly work system that began to be implemented at the beginning of this year.
According to the decision, the official working hours of federal government agencies during the blessed month of Ramadan are from nine in the morning until two in the afternoon, from Monday to Thursday, and from nine in the morning until twelve in the afternoon, on Fridays of every week.
The decision allows federal government agencies to implement flexible working and remote working systems for Fridays in the month of Ramadan in line with government decisions regulating flexible and remote work, and controls for granting flexibility to work remotely for federal government employees on Friday, in order to ensure the continuity of service provision, and the smooth functioning of work. Which provides for the presence of a sufficient number of employees at the headquarters of the government entity to ensure the continuity of providing services to customers during the holy month, and provides the option to work remotely on Friday, for 40% of the total number of government entity employees.
The remote work controls focus on the need for the job and the employee to meet the conditions for remote work, and for the federal entity to determine the appropriate jobs for remote work, and to organize remote work for the employee on Friday, after the prior approval of his direct supervisor in coordination with the Director of Administration and Resources Management Humanity at work.
The weekly work system in the federal government allows the authorities to give priority to remote work for the employee whose workplace is far from his place of residence, and to take into account any humanitarian conditions that employees may face in this aspect, to enable them to perform their tasks to the fullest.
