Increasing accommodation transaction fees and issuing and renewing an ID card

Customers and printing offices of "Emirates Today" have complained that, as of yesterday, the fees for accommodation transactions, as well as the issuing and renewal of identity cards, have been hiked by AED 100 for each transaction.

Printing offices have reported that they have begun charging a price of 386 dirhams, an increase of 100 dirhams, for printing or renewing the Emirates ID card in order to renew the residence for two years. This fee is in addition to the fee that is collected for all passport transactions.

Through its smart application, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security provided the following information regarding the fees for issuing or renewing the identity card: the fees for issuing the card are 100 dirhams per year; the fees for smart services are 100 dirhams; the fees of the Authority and the fees for electronic services amount to 50 dirhams; the fees for urgent services are 150 dirhams; and the fees for smart services are 100 dirhams.
