Two-hour reduction of private sector working hours in the UAE
During the month of Ramadan, working hours in the private sector in the UAE will be cut back, and the duration of this decrease has been determined. To this end, the government of the United Arab Emirates has recently made a number of official decisions concerning the regulation of working hours in the private sector during the holy month of Ramadan. These decisions were made in order to make life easier for workers in the country for the duration of the month of fasting.

Reducing working hours in the private sector during Ramadan
During the holy month of Ramadan, private companies in the UAE are allowed to shorten their workweeks.
It was stated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation that during the holy month of Ramadan, all workers in the private sector in the country will have their normal working hours reduced by two hours every day.
Work system during the month of Ramadan in the UAE
It was indicated in a ministerial circular that was issued in this regard that "it is permissible for establishments, in accordance with the interest and nature of their work, to apply flexible work patterns or remote work, within the limits of the daily working hours specified during the days of Ramadan." This was in reference to the fact that the daily working hours during the month of Ramadan are specified.
Law regulating labor relations in the UAE
This is done in accordance with the requirement of Clause 2 of Article 15 of Cabinet Decision No. 1 of 2022 regarding the executive rules of Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 addressing the organisation of labour relations and its changes.
