The updated visa system, announced by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, comes into force today, providing foreigners with 10 renewable residency options ranging from two to 10 years, namely golden residence, green residence, virtual residence, retirees residence, work residence, study residence, and residence of the landlord.

Residence permit for family members of a foreigner residing in the country
It also issues a residence permit for family members of a foreigner residing in the country, a residence permit for the wives and children of citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, who hold foreign passports, in addition to a residence permit for humanitarian cases organized by a decision of the Chairman of the Authority.
Dispensing with the sponsor system completely
Finally, the Authority announced the complete dispensing of the sponsorship system within the new visa system, and relying on the contractual relationship between the worker and the employer, and there will be great flexibility in receiving services and obtaining the visa in record time, as well as increasing the period of stay of the foreigner after the end or cancellation of his stay within the country from one to six months.
The golden visa
The UAE offers the Golden Visa, a long-term stay, for two, five or 10 years, to certain categories of foreigners residing in the UAE, or wishing to come to it, and enables them to live, work, invest and study, without the need for a guarantor or host, with exclusive benefits.
It includes the categories of investors, entrepreneurs, talents, scientists and specialists, early students and graduates, humanitarian pioneers, and the first line of defense.
