During a press conference, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology announced the creation of 500 jobs in the private sector across the country's emirates, while the Emirati Cadres Competitiveness Council (Nafis) disclosed the employment of 10,500 citizens in private sector companies during the first quarter of this year.
Specifically, the secretary general of the UAE cadres Competitiveness Council "Nafs", Ghanam Al Mazrouei, reported that the number of Emirati citizens employed in the private sector rose to 66,000 by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
Al Mazrouei disclosed yesterday at a press conference on the latest developments of the "two factories" program and the employment opportunities it provides to Emirati cadres on the sidelines of the "Make in the Emirates" Forum in Abu Dhabi that 10,500 citizens were employed in private sector companies during the first quarter of this year, with more than 74% of them have never worked in the private sector before. He disclosed that there are 16,000 private sector companies currently employing citizens.
Abdullah Al Shamsi, assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry for the industrial development sector at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, announced during the press conference the provision of 500 jobs for Emirati citizens to work in the private sector in various emirates of the country, through electronic registration through the "Nafis" platform, as of yesterday. He explained that 42% of the jobs are in Abu Dhabi, 34% are in Dubai, and 9% are in Sharjah.
He explained that the types of scientific degrees and specializations available to citizens include engineering, science, supply chain, information technology, financial management and Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, and technical positions in numerous industrial fields.
Salama Al-Awadi, director of the value-added Programme at the Ministry of Industry and advanced technology, stated that the qualified will be chosen to cover 500 positions in the third quarter of this year, and training programs will begin.
She added that the "two manufacturers" program aims to support initiatives to empower national cadres, and develop national competencies and skills in the industrial sector for industrial and technological jobs by aligning their skills with the professional requirements of factories, in cooperation with training institutes and the industrial sector, with the support of relevant "Nafs" programs, and create additional and high-quality employment opportunities for citizens in the industrial sector.
She stated that the training programs encompass a variety of industries, including health and safety, industrial engineering, production, maintenance, metal fabrication, quality control, and industrial automation.
She pointed out that 72 factories involved in qualification and training processes function in a variety of industries.
