The federal authority for Human Resources has confirmed that there will be no change to the working hours of employees of ministries and federal bodies beginning in July 2023. The authority also emphasized that the "compressed work" system is subject to specific and exceptional controls, contrary to recent rumors circulating on social media platforms.
The authority urged the public and social media users to verify the veracity of what is being published and to obtain news and information from the organization's official website and social media platforms.
The authority confirmed that the executive regulations of the human resources law address new types of employment and work, including part-time work, temporary work, flexible work, work from the workplace or remotely within and outside the country, hybrid mode, and compressed working hours.
She noted that the "Compressed Work" System is one of a group of work types designed to enhance the flexibility of the government work environment and facilitate achievement and that the application of this system is subject to specific, clear, and exceptional controls related to the uniqueness of the work performed by each federal entity and function.
The authority stated that compressed work is permitted in exceptional circumstances by the controls specified in the manuals for human resources, with the approval of the entity's head, and within a specific and brief time frame.
