Urgent Emirates: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid issues a new law regarding these cars in Dubai

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, issued Law No. (9) of 2023.

This law, which was introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Ruler of Dubai, is known as "Law No. 9 of 2023 regulating the operation of self-driving vehicles in Dubai," and it aims to achieve the emirate's strategy in smart, self-driving mobility, which is to transfer 25% of the total transportation trips to Dubai, to smart and self-driving trips, by 2030, through the use of artificial intelligence, organizing the operation of self-drive.

The law falls within the framework of the continuous modernization of the legislative system and ensures its alignment with the ambitious development goals set by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, by His Highness' vision of the requirements for consolidating Dubai's pioneering position as a model for future cities, and by the global technological development, which Dubai is keen to embrace.
