May 1, new speed limit in the UAE will be in effect
On a significant thoroughfare in the UAE, a new minimum speed restriction is going to go into force on May 1st, 2023.

After the expiration of the warning period for infractions on May 1, 2023, the Abu Dhabi Police will implement a minimum speed limit on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road in both directions. This will take effect immediately.
There will be a maximum speed limit of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and a minimum speed limit of 120 kph for the first two lanes coming from the left side of the road.
UAE's speed limit
A driver who receives a ticket for driving faster than the permitted minimum speed will be subject to a fine of AED 400.
Heavy vehicles are permitted to travel in the third and last lanes at a maximum speed of 140 kilometers per hour; however, they are exempt from the requirement that they travel at a minimum speed of 90 kilometers per hour.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution when behind the wheel.
The Abu Dhabi Police emphasized that the minimum speed restriction would be implemented to ensure the safety of motorists, and this will be done in the near future. They pleaded with those who were driving slow cars to remain in their designated lanes.
