The UAE Police announces the blocking of more than 200 social media outlets for drug promotion
In the first three months of 2023, 47% of all drug crime suspects in the United Arab Emirates were apprehended by the Dubai Police. Over 6 million narcotic pills and 238 kilogrammes of drugs were confiscated in these operations.

208 social media accounts were found to be advertising drugs as authorities cracked down on smugglers and traffickers. During the same time frame, access to all of these websites was restricted.
The most recent numbers reveal that the Dubai Police were successful in their fight against drugs, with their haul accounting for 36% of the total amount collected across the country in the first quarter. Cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, opiates, marijuana, hashish, and pills were among the drugs that were confiscated.Contributing to Global Operations
The Dubai Police have been actively aiding narcotics busts all around the world, not just at the national level.
In the first three months of 2023, they assisted in the arrest of 65 individuals thanks to the information they provided to other countries. Drugs such as khat, cocaine, marijuana, and heroin weighing up to 842 kilogrammes were seized during these raids.
As the director of Hemaya International Centre, Col. Abdullah Al Khayat also revealed that 24,204 persons of many different nationalities benefited from the force's student and community programming. He also stated that awareness initiatives helped over six million people.
These figures were disclosed during a recent conference attended by top Dubai police officers by Lt. Gen. Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri.
