Urgent UAE: Renew your Emirates ID and passport now from anywhere

Asma Ahmed - | Arab News

The United Arab Emirates recently introduced a service that enables people to renew their passports and Emirates ID cards while travelling abroad. This long-awaited modification has been made by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security.

Renewing Emirates ID and passport from anywhere in the world

However, there is one important requirement that users must meet in order to use this service: the applicant must personally apply for the transaction via the authority's dedicated smart application, proving that they are the rightful owner of the documents.

As Al-Abdouli explained the steps required to renew ID cards from abroad in an interview with 'Noor Dubai' radio. "Individuals residing outside of the UAE can access the authority's smart application on their mobile phones," he stated. "They can choose the service for renewing ID cards from abroad, submit their application, pay the fees, and complete the transaction seamlessly".

Requirements

The authorities have set nine precise requirements that must be satisfied in order for personal images supplied through their smart systems to be accepted, regardless of the applicant's age. These requirements include:

  1. wearing United Arab Emirates-issued official attire.
  2. the acceptance of head coverings in conformity with traditions and customs.
  3. using a background of white.
  4. submitting a recent, high-quality, 35–40 mm colour photo that was taken within the last six months.
  5. ensuring that the head is straight and perpendicular to the camera lens.
  6. keeping your face expressionless.
  7. Face the camera without wearing coloured contact lenses while keeping both eyes open.
  8. ensuring that glasses don't reflect light or hinder vision.
  9. The image must be free of creases and pen marks and have a resolution of at least 600 dots per inch.

When requesting a renewal or replacement, the authority strongly advises all customers to verify the legitimacy and accuracy of their ID numbers and expiration dates.

In order To prevent any delays in the execution of their transactions, they should also double-check the accuracy of the data supplied in the electronic form before completing the payment. People are also urged to double-check the authenticity of any phone numbers, email addresses, or preferred delivery methods indicated on an electronic form.
