A grave warning against downloading any desk application has just been issued by the Public Prosecution in the State of Kuwait. This is due to the fact that criminal organizations utilize desk programs to steal money from bank accounts.

The Public Prosecution issued a warning against downloading the “AnyDesk” program after discovering that a gang is using it to control mobile devices, access bank accounts and seize the money in them.

Complaints after downloading the “AnyDesk” application

In this context, the Kuwaiti Public Prosecution revealed that it had received more than 300 complaints recently, submitted by people who were subjected to fraud and electronic fraud by a gang organization that deluded the victims into investing their money, and demanded that they download the (AnyDesk) application, then they were able to control the victims’ mobile devices and they were able to access their accounts. Bank and transfer their money and seize it.

Dr. Safa’a Zaman, head of the Kuwaiti Society for Information Security said that applications such as AnyDesk “allow people to enter remotely to the device for several reasons, including what companies use to provide assistance to customers remotely, and unfortunately recently, some of these telephone services have been used for bad purposes, which is accessing devices for the purpose of fraud.”

Kuwaiti public prosecution has urged citizens and expatriates to ignore such downloading calls to head off falling prey to electronic fraud.

The Public Prosecution has warned all citizens and residents not to respond to invitations to download the “AnyDesk” application or any of the applications for any reason.
