Eid Al-Fitr 2023 holiday in Qatar - Eid Al Fitr expected to be on 21 April 2023 as per Qatar Calendar House

On the 9th of April 2023, the Qatar Calendar House made the announcement that in accordance with the precise astronomical calculations that were carried out by experts, Friday, which will correspond to the 21st of April 2023, will be the first day of the month of Shawwal and the first day of the blessed Eid al-Fitr for the year 1444 AH according to the astronomical calendar.

The Crescent Investigation Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in the State of Qatar is still responsible for making the final decision about whether or not the Islamic calendar should advance to the month of Shawwal.

According to Engineer Faisal Al Ansari, Executive Director of Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex, the crescent of the month of Shawwal for the year 1444 AH will be born on Thursday, which corresponds to 20 April 2023 (the day of investigation), at 7:13 am Doha local time 4:13 am universal time. This announcement was made by Engineer Faisal Al Ansari.

Al Ansari added that the crescent of the month of Shawwal will set after the sunset of the investigation day, 20 April 2023, in the sky of the State of Qatar with a duration of 22 minutes, and that period will rise as we go westward. He said this will occur in the sky of Qatar with a period of 22 minutes.
